MTech will enter a Ferrari F430 for Matt Griffin and Duncan Cameron in this year’s British GT Championship.
The Midlands-based squad entered the final round of last year’s championship, with Cameron and Mike Edmonds taking an encouraging seventh place finish in the GT3 class. They will now launch a full season campaign in the SRO-run series.
" We are delighted to have secured Matt's services for the season. I consider Matt one of the top Ferrari drivers in the world and to have him on board puts us in great position. I'm sure with his input the team can go from strength to strength" Commented Mtech team Manager Mike Edmund's
Griffin who won the British GT title in 2003 with Tech 9 Motorsport and drove a Ferrari for Chad Racing alongside Peter Bamford last season is now targeting race wins.
“It will be difficult for a new team to be competitive but so far I have been very impressed with Mtech, the car looks strong already and it’s improving so I think we can be in a position to win races over the season.
I only met Duncan for the first time at the test at Donington last week, but even though he’s a gentleman driver he’s prepared to do a lot to help us be at the front.”
Further information on Matt's 2009 racing plans will be released within the next week.
The first round of the British GT takes place on Easter weekend at Oulton Park
